The harbor of Salamis is geographically extremely safe. This is also indicated from its name: Koulouri (the island’s capital) which is translated to“circle” in English, meaning that this harbor is actually a “circle” providing physical protection for the ships. It should also be remembered that home port mooring means not only ships but a wider package of measures relating to the reception of visitors to and from the airport in a safe and fast way and beyond.Facilitates the intention of tourists to visit, both major antiquities in capital , and those of the Peloponnese in no time, the location of Salamis both the existence of Attica and the National Highway secondly, serve this purpose. Already signed from the ministry of development Salamis and the Government is the imminent construction of the bridge, which connects the Attica and the Peloponnesus through Salamis.

Salaminians (traditional fishermen and sea businessmen) will gladly offer help and support to any of cruise ships’ needs. Tourists will have alternative opportunities to visit such as: 

§  Many historical places (where the Salamis Battle took place in 480BC,the Ancient city of Salamis , the famous Tumulus of Salamina Fighters , the famous poet Euripides’s cave (discovered in 1994 by the Salaminian archeologist Prof. Lolos), the great fighter’s Karaiskakis’ grave (1821) etc.)

§  The historical Folks,Arts museum of Salamis, the modern Evripidion theatre etc.

§  The famous (female) monastery of Panagia Faneromeni (11th century), the church St. Nicolaos “Lemonia” (17th century) etc.§  The house of the famous Greek poet Angelo Sikelianos (1884-1951). §  A nice walk in the sea-side of Koulouri (Salamina’s capital), Eantion and Selinia  village having a coffee or lunch just at the seaside, in the many cafeterias and  traditional taverns.  §  Traditional fish market.  Amazing beaches.

§  On the south side of Salamis in Kanakia encounters a pine forest. This is the biggest, closest and only green lung in western Attica. The forest is an attraction for nature lovers and ideal for camping and has trails for mountain-bike where out and races.§  Night life with many clubs and bars.§  They can have organized tours to Athens (Acropolis, Historical Museum, Sounion etc. with the new “Attica highway” ) with busses from the Salamis coast (it will only take 1 hour  to the Acropolis and approx. 2 hours to Sounion). §  They can have organized tours to Peloponnesus with the new highway (Mycenae, Sparta, Epidaurus, Olympia) with busses from Salamis coast.

HISTORICAL EDUCATIONAL  PARK “ THE NAVY BATTLE OF SALAMIS”

        Short project description of The Salamis Project:

​The aim of the Historical Educational Park is to explain in as many ways as possible the importance and history of the Navy Battle of Salamis. It's influence on Europe, world history and our civilization. The project could consist of many different items; from an educational center to a shop, theater, restaurant, water-plays, interactive activities, a major Battle attraction and more. We expect this project will attract visitors  from 700 cruise ships which will arrived in Piraeus this year and  about 13 million people who visit the site of the Acropolis in Athens every  year.​
